Espar gasoline heater
$2500 - This includes the heater and labor to install. This heater runs on gasoline from the vans gas tank as well as the house battery to run the fan and fuel pump. It is extremely fuel efficient using only .07 gallons per hour on high. We install the heater under the floor behind the driver’s seat so it doesn’t use up any of the valuable space inside your camper. It is a complex installation so we will need your van for a full day. Please show up with less than a 1/4 tank of gas as we need to remove the fuel tank to install the pickup tube for the heater.
Lithium battery upgrade
$975 - This includes a 100ah lithium battery with Victron Energy 50amp XS DC/DC charger installed. The capacity is more at 100ah and you can use most of this capacity where your existing AGM (lead acid) battery you can only use 50% of its capacity. This is a great upgrade if you find the existing AGM battery isn’t enough for your needs. It is also a good option when its time to replace your AGM battery. This does require coming to our shop in Grass Valley, CA.
We are able to do this both on vans with the battery under the floor and under the fridge.
We did recently raise the price of the battery upgrade because we now use the Victron 50amp XS DC-DC charger. This DC-DC charger is a major improvement over the previous 30amp version. One of the big wins is it’s quite a bit smaller making for a cleaner install.
Second solar panel
$350 - This includes a second solar panel and installation. Your existing charge controller is rated at 10amp and when the two panels are wired in series it easily handles the additional capacity. This is a good option if you are finding that you need more power during the day when you are not driving. Please note that it is important for both panels to not be even partially covered as the efficiency goes down quickly if blocked.
1000 WATT INVERTER
$550 - This includes an AIMs 1000watt pure sine-wave inverter mounted in the standard location. The larger inverter requires running new 6AWG wire back to the battery. This is a way to use some of the additional power you get with a lithium upgrade. With this inverter you can use an induction cooktop up to medium heat. If you spend a lot of time in your van this is really nice because you will no longer be going through butane to cook. You can expect to get 45-60 minutes of the inverter at 1000watts with the 100ah lithium battery. Great for cooking and other short term uses but not something you can run a space heater or other high wattage appliances on for extended periods of time.
Extra Insulation
$800 - Our standard insulation is plenty for most folks. If you feel like you need more we now offer an extra insulation package. This includes filing the walls, side and rear doors, and ceiling cavities with Thinsulate insulation.
Second set of curtains
$350 - For a full set including the big front curtain. -$25 per window if you don’t have all 4 windows. The way we do it is you mail us for 3 yards of cotton or other non-stretchy standard type of fabric with a minimum width of 42". No super thick upholstery fabric. If your fabric has a pattern that could go vertical or horizontal include a note with it calling out the direction you would like it to go. We encourage you to find some awesome fabric and make it your own :-) Check out sites like spoonflower.com as there is some really fun fabric out there. $900 - This is for complete cushions including both the foam and the vinyl. If your foam is still good and you just want the vinyl the cost is $650
